Zhichen Lai 赖志宸

I am an Associate Research Professor in the College of Computer and Data Science, Fuzhou University, China. I am also a member of the Fujian Key Laboratory of Network Computing and Intelligent Information Processing, where I work closely with Prof. Xing Chen under his mentorship. I was selected for the National Overseas Talent Recruitment Program (国家海外引才专项) in 2025. I am also the principal investigator of a National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund (Category C) project. I currently lead the Data Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Information Group (DIG@FZU). My research interests include spatio-temporal data mining, GeoAI, efficient deep learning, and AI for science and health.

I earned my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Aalborg University (AAU) in early 2025, where I also served as a Research Fellow. I was advised by Professor Christian S. Jensen, a Member of Academia Europaea and an ACM and IEEE Fellow, and Professors Dalin Zhang, Huan Li, and Hua Lu. In 2024, I was a Junior Visiting Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), supervised by Professors Lina Yao and Dong Gong. I earned my M.S. in Computer Science from Sichuan University (SCU) in 2021 under Professor Jiancheng Lv, and my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2018.
